Customs Declaration

When the items to be shipped are purchased as part of a promotional offer, we CANNOT guarantee that Customs will stick to the cost indicated on the invoice. It may be adjusted to the commercial database of Colombian Customs.

Cell Phone Policy

Cell phones and their accessories must be shipped ALONE in their box, without any other items such as clothes, shoes, etc. You can only send 1 cell phone per shipment per week. The original invoice, IMEI number and HS code must be affixed to the box. It must be properly declared at the true retail price as supported by the invoice. Additionally, make sure to mention the brand, state of the product (new or used) and any accessories you are sending along with the phone. If it does not meet the requirements it will be seized by the DIAN in Colombia.

• We carry out home deliveries across Costa Rica’s capital city, San José. If the beneficiary wishes to arrange for a delivery in another city, they will have to make a request for a quote.
• Shipping restrictions: Medicines, comfits, food, cosmetics, vitamins, perfumes, chemicals, canned food, leather, samples of animal products, biological products, fertilizers, liquor, tobacco, medical equipment or product, flavor samples, pigments, precious stones, money in cash and any item that constitutes a violation of US laws.

• If small appliances are being shipped to Central America (pots and pans, sandwich makers, juicers, blenders, coffee makers, toasters, etc.), please pack them in a box.
• We do NOT ship stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, dryers, etc.
• As for wheelchairs, please fold and send them with a maximum of 4 per package. Kindly send us the measurements in inches so we can establish a quote).

• Always confirm with Estafeta whether you wish to have the goods delivered at a given address or picked up at our office.

• If the parcel exceeds 130 lbs, it will have to be picked up at the office closest to the zip code.
• Taxes amount to 30% of the declared value and are payable in the United States. They are subject to readjustment by customs in Mexico.

• In the description of the waybill, please state all the items you are sending in the parcel to avoid any delays and inconveniences with customs.

• It is paramount that the sender be registered with a consular ID card or Ecuadorian passport.

• All shipments with a declared value above 200.00 USD will be charged a 25% tax.
• Home delivery in Lima. An additional fee will apply for deliveries in other cities. The recipient will be informed of this supplemental charge when the parcel arrives in Lima.
• Delivery within 8 to 10 business days from shipment date, provided all documents have been properly filled out..
• The recipient can only receive 3 shipments per year, or until they exceed the maximum limit of 1000 USD per shipment. If the recipient has an RUT, they can receive unlimited parcels.
• We will have to check the client’s history and confirm with them whether they have shipped items through other companies. If this is the case and they have exceeded the yearly limit but do not possess an RUT, customs will seize the parcel for a given period of time. They will only deliver it in Lima once the client has made the necessary arrangements for its release.

Required documents to ship items

• Invoice and/or Sworn declaration of the estimated value.(You must fill out the invoice form and enclose them as proof. State all the items you are sending in the parcel, as well as their commercial value, whether gift or sample.
• A copy of the recipient's identity document.
• Prohibited items: Firearms, gunpwder, ammunition, grenades, household articles (like bleach or chlorine), money, drugs and similar products, explosives, untreated (raw) wood, second-hand vehicle parts, used clothing and/or shoes, magnetized items, wet wipes, KN95 face masks, jewellery, passports, identity documents and bank cards.
• Permitted items: New clothes, medicines, vitamins, supplements, breast pump, health-related items (oximeters, thermometers, oxygen generators, masks, etc)...

The following articles will be exempt of the internment permit as they are considered as personal items. Only 5 units of the same product can be sent in the same box and the corresponding taxes must be paid.

Please find below the commercial invoice that the client must complete and hand in to process the shipment. Remember that the declared value must match the purchase invoice to ensure you pay the corresponding taxes and avoid any inconvenience with Customs.

• No more than 6 identical items, otherwise Customs could consider them as commercial goods.
• Delivery solely to the main office of each city. For security reasons, the address will only be shared with the recipient once the parcel has arrived.
• Delivery within 2 to 3 weeks from shipment date.
• Shipment frequency: 8-day basis between Thursday and Monday.
• Taxes amount to 30% of the declared value and are payable in the United States. They are subject to readjustment by customs in Venezuela.

• We have coverage of the entire territory of the Dominican Republic.
• Shipments of this cargo are made on Monday or Tuesday and Thursday or Friday.
• Delivery is offered at home or at offices/bus stations at the request of the customer.
• Parcel delivery at bus stops will be for small packages up to 5 pounds.
• The delivery of parcels in offices in the capital will not have a weight limit to withdraw.
• Minimum 5 LB to 50 LB (the weight and dimensions of the box are taken into account, the charge is generated for whichever is greater).
• The delivery time for this service will be 6 to 8 business days throughout the national territory.
• Items with a value greater than $2,500.00 must present documents. (invoice)
• Does not include customs taxes. The consignee is responsible for this payment, unless the shipper decides to pay locally the equivalent in dollars.
• Each package is reviewed and its content checked against the list.
• Sending money, jewelry, precious metals, hazardous materials, flammable products is not allowed.

As of the date (NOVEMBER 29, 2019) the SPECIAL service will be consolidated as an EXPRESS service for sending envelopes to the Dominican Republic.

• Delivery is offered at home or at offices/bus stations at the request of the customer.
• Document dispatches are made on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week.
• (No USB, debit cards, SIM cards, checks, etc.)

REGULAR ENVELOPE : (Maximum 1 pound)

• The estimated delivery time for regular envelopes is 4 to 5 business days in Santo Domingo and 5 to 6 business days in the interior of the country.
• After 1 pound the EXTRA WEIGHT REGULAR ENVELOPE service will be sent with an estimated delivery time of 6 to 8 business days.

ENVELOPE EXPRESS : (Maximum 1 pound)

EXTRA WEIGHT EXPRESS ENVELOPE : (2 to 4 pounds maximum)

The estimated delivery time of the express envelopes is 48 to 72 hours at home or at the Santo Domingo office, for the interior it will be through the bus stopsin the main provinces of the country.In case the envelope exceeds 4 pounds, it must be divided.

IMPORTANT

Each document must have a declared value for Customs.

• Prohibited items: money, weapons, jewellery or high-value items, child pornography, flammable materials, US cultural heritage items or any articles that constitutes a violation to US laws.
• USED and NEW items may be sent for non-commercial purposes.

If items are new, they should be sent without the original labels, prices or packaging.

• Weight limits: 8 cubic feet in a box with dimensions (24x24x24) - 20 cubic feet in a box with dimensions (24x28x48)

In Managua, the customs officer will contact the recipient and request the necessary documents to nationalize the box. These formalities incur a fee, payable in Nicaragua.

If the value of the goods exceeds $500.00 at the destination, the consignee will be responsible for the payment of the taxes.

Under no circumstances does Los Dorados Cargo take responsibility for the payment of taxes or permit procedures (telephone, food, weapons, medicine) at the destination.

Delivery at the destination is carried out within the pre-scheduled dates, unless in case of disruption by external factors: natural disasters, civil unrest, personnel and equipment safety, inaccessible destination. However, we do not take any responsibility for loss of business and/or business opportunity due to any delay.

The carrier shall be responsible for the content, packing and declaration of each box and certifies that it does not contain any items prohibited by the relevant Nicaraguan authorities. No claims shall be accepted for broken appliances and/or damage during the handling of goods.
